Large Item Pick-ups

LARGE ITEM PICK UP is for removal of large items such as appliances, furniture, brush, limbs, leaves, etc. from residential addresses.

RESIDENTIAL ADDRESS means a single family home. No commercial establishments including multi-apartment buildings, mobile home parks and rental properties.

RESIDENTIAL ADDRESSES are eligible for a combined total of 2 trips or loads per calendar year for LARGE ITEM PICK UPS. Additional trips or loads (3 or more) will be charged $50 per trip. Please note that unimproved or vacant lots are not eligible for LARGE ITEM PICK UPS. LARGE ITEM PICK UP is available for RESIDENTIAL ADDRESSES ONLY.

All items for LARGE ITEM PICK UPS must be placed on street right-of-way.

Automotive parts, tires, batteries and hazardous waste will not be picked up.

Materials or debris resulting from construction, remodeling or demolition (bricks, concrete, shingles, siding, wood, lumber, roofing, etc.) may not be disposed of by LARGE ITEM PICKUP.

Leaves must be placed on street right-of-way. Leaf pick up is seasonal – October 1 through March 31.

Carpet and rugs must be in rolls not over 6 feet long and 24 inches in diameter.

Large stumps will not be picked up. If trees are cut, the logger or the homeowner will be responsible for disposal of brush and logs by other means than LARGE ITEM PICK UP.

The public dumpster is open on Wednesdays and Fridays only for people living in the city limits of Hamilton only. Wednesday hours are from 9-5:30 and Friday is from 8:00 to 4:30 or until dumpsters are full.
